KORALIE BARRAU

Koralie Barrau is a Haitian-American documentary producer and journalist based in New York City, dedicated to telling stories that resonate with place, identity, and the legacies of post-colonialism.

Inspired by her experience growing up in the diaspora, Koralie's work amplifies underrepresented voices and explores complex global issues. As a producer at BBC World News, she covered a wide range of critical topics, including reparations in the Caribbean, the US presidential elections, the Black Lives Matter movement, the Derek Chauvin trial, affirmative action debates, and international affairs for both television and radio.

Transitioning full-time to feature documentaries, Koralie recently contributed to the PBS Frontline film Maui's Deadly Firestorm, a year-long investigation into the deadliest American wildfire in a century. She also worked on the award-winning verité feature The Calling, which follows medical students in the Bronx over a year as they confront systemic inequities in the U.S. healthcare system. The Calling will air on PBS in Spring 2025.

Koralie has collaborated with industry leaders such as Creative Artists Agency, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and TED, advancing diverse and inclusive storytelling.

A graduate of The George Washington University and the London School of Economics, where she earned an MSc in Media, Communication, and International Development, Koralie brings a global perspective to her work. Her professional experience spans New York City, Washington, DC, London, Port-au-Prince, and Paris.

She also serves on the Board of Directors for 100Cameras, a nonprofit empowering youth to share their stories through photography.

Koralie thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and is always eager to connect and mentor aspiring producers.
